Height Performance

Coach Zack

Growth comes through the process.

Years of fitness has taught me that the most strict and scientific program is only right for a very small portion of the population. The vast majority of us require variance and change, communication through struggle and reassurance, and enough structure and consistency to create the desired physical adaptations.

By creating opportunities for my clients to fail safely, learn and grow, I know they will be instrumental in their own success. Confidence built through personal struggle and overcoming challenges is earned and well-deserved.

The old school method of refusing to explain training protocols to clients is old. A client who understands why they are doing deadlifts instead of squats, or bodyweight exercises instead of weights, will be more excited to engage in their training. When you know why you’re doing something you have an idea of what to expect from it and an enthusiasm to achieve the desired effect.

Combining science, communication, an adaptive structure and tying it all together with my own personal experience in training has resulted in the ever evolving Height Performance. I trust the basics and rely on them heavily, but the day I stop learning and my coaching stops developing is the day I stop coaching.

Coach Zack

Zack is a firm believer that the magic is in the movement. Throughout his career in fitness he has seen that when his clients increase the quality of their movement the standard metrics of performance: weight, speed, body composition, etc. all tend to move in a positive direction.

This focus on movement quality is a gateway to fitness. As his clients begin to master the basics inside the gym it is always his goal to layer in more complex exercises, functional nutrition and quality lifestyle habits like a consistent sleep schedule to increase their physical capacity.

AN EVOLVING APPROACH

I believe that there is no right way to get fit and be healthy. Instead I recognize that there are general principles that function as guidelines that must be individualized to become functional outside of a laboratory setting, AKA in the real world.

What works for one person may not work for another. The answer is always, “it depends.”

Through the combination of meeting my clients halfway and having a thorough understanding of physiology and biomechanics as they relate to sport, movement, strength, endurance and mobility we can use principles as guidelines to build unique programs that are functional and engaging no matter what your goals and relationship with exercise and training.
