The single arm db clean is a unilateral exercise commonly used for conditioning. It demands anti-rotation and stability as well as providing a powerful metabolic effect.
Cues:
- Start in a deadlift position with the dumbbell on the ground outside of your foot
- You can place the dumbbells between the feet if that is a more comfortable set up for your anatomy
- Stand and jump the weight to the shoulder and secure it in the front rack as you squat
- Stand fully before returning to the floor for the next rep
Mistakes:
- Rounding the back as you go to the floor
- Failing to squat fully
- Failing to stand fully
- Inconsistency between reps
