The Alternating DB Floor Press is an exercise to develop arm strength as well as to teach proper back tension in the press.
Cues:
- Depress the scaps strongly so your shoulders brace securely against the floor
- Maintain tension as you lower one DB
- Keep the straight arm locked strongly
Mistakes:
- Pressing the shoulders away from the floor at the top
- Relaxing the back or letting the elbows rest against the floor at the bottom
- Allowing the straight arm to be soft/lazy
