Jump rope is a dynamic warm up and can also be used in a conditioning setting. It requires and develops rhythm as well as high-eye coordination.
Single Unders:
- Keep the body loose and relaxed and the spine neutral
- Arms should be symmetrical when viewed from the front
- Adjust cadence and speed on to develop control of the spin
- Adjust between two feet and single foot jumping to increase body awareness and control
Double Unders:
- Body should be loose and relaxed and symmetrical like single unders
- Jump only as high as necessary to spin the rope twice per jump
- Speed can be increased or decreased to permit more or less recovery
