This is an effective drill to teach athletes to pick their feet up in order to generate greater acceleration on their third pull, as well as to increase the consistency and balance of the receiving position.
Cues:
- Place weights, or other wide flat objects, against the outsides of your feet when placed in their normal pulling position
- Complete the lift as usual and move the feet into their natural receiving position
- Use a light weight to develop consistency
- Advanced athletes can use this drill at heavier loads in unique cases
Mistakes:
- Placing the weights anywhere besides directly next to your feet
- Anything that would be a fault in the Power Clean
